SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active Secret clearance​

 

DESCRIPTION

HOPLITE GROUP is looking for a qualified individual to support a multi-year contract with the Joint Special Operations Task Force – Somalia (JSOTF-SOM) that may start as early as 31 March 2022. The Cultural Linguist must possess the aptitude, knowledge, interpersonal skills, and linguistic ability necessary to provide influence and operational support.

 

DUTIES

• Provide cultural context support during key leader engagements 

• Provide linguistic support to instructional, training, and operational situations.

• Perform Somali to English and English to Somali interpretation, translation, and linguist services in support of this customer; will be equipped with tools, materials, and other items necessary to perform this duty.

• Assist with various interpretation and cultural advisement scenarios that include but are not limited to classroom instruction, staff meetings, commemorative programs, award ceremonies, and discussions on information operations in formal and informal settings.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Fluency in oral and written English to Somali and Somali to English translation and the ability to interpret in a variety of settings and keep pace with training classes and discussions.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Public Speaking Skills

• Past training or instructor experience

• Experience in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Experience working in East Africa
